We support the enhancement and development of appropriate
technologies-those that enhance life, use resources efficiently, are
sustainable and nonpolluting, help instill pride and a sense of purpose in
workers, increase leisure and human freedom, and are amenable to democratic
and decentralized control.
We advocate giving high priority in both funding and public attention to
the sciences that involve interconnectedness of systems and
interdisciplinary studies to promote the development of appropriate
technologies.
